Welcome back!
Seating capacity in the Church is limited in order to maintain social distancing. However, it is the strong desire of the St. Mark Church that no one be turned away from attending mass!
So how will everyone be able to attend Mass with only one Mass and such limited seating inside the church? Well, those with I-phones, I-pads, and laptops are encouraged to attend the service via live streaming or listening on radio inside their vehicles.
General Information for Mass in both parking lot and in church
- Mass schedule change: One weekend Mass at 9:am (For now), Daily Mass will be at 8 am Monday-Friday.
- Ushers will be available to help you navigate.
- You will be greeted at the entrance to the parking lot by an usher. Please let the usher know if you are attending Mass in the church or staying in the parking lot.
- If you can please print worship aid and bring it with you, if have not we will have some available.
- Always observe social distancing and wear a mask in all building on the campus. We have some mask available
- We will have some sanitizer; if you can please bring your own.
- The faithful are obliged to wear a mask upon entering the any church building and during the celebration of Mass, unless they are under the age of two. You are asked to continue wearing the mask except for the brief moment of receiving Holy Communion.
- You are encouraged to bring electronic devices to download and watch Mass and see worship aid.

- We will be using sneeze guards during communion to further protect you. Please make sure your hands are under the plastic.
- Entry and exit doors will be adequately designated and monitored. Entry doors will be propped or held open before Mass and exit doors will be propped or held open at the end of Mass to prevent people from touching the door handles, knobs or push plates.
Procedure for Staying in car
- During Communion please exit car. Communion will be available in front of church follow the usher instructions. Receive Communion and step to the side for social distancing and remove mask to receive communion and put mask back on and exit from the front door to return to your car.
- A basket will also be available for donations, please bring donations with you when come for communion.
- If for some reason you are unable to get out of the car for communion, please turn on your hazard lights and an Extra Ordinary Minister will come to your car.
- Mass is available on your radio on station 88.3 Live streaming is available on our website www.stmarklancater.com., the Wi-Fi password is eMerald7. (not guest account)
- We respectfully request that no one leave the parking lot until Father has announced Mass has ended in order to avoid traffic control problems. When leaving, please drive slowly and watch for pedestrians.
Church building Mass procedure:
- We will only have the main front doors open to enter Mass. Please exit Mass through the wooden doors by the parking lot.
- Ushers will assist with directing people to pews; we will need to leave two pews vacant.
- Families are to maintain six-foot distancing between their family and other families or individuals throughout the celebration of Mass.
- Seating is to be arranged such that six feet of distance can be maintained between members of one household and members of another.
- All hymnals and missalettes have been removed from the pews and stored for the duration of the pandemic. Worship aids will be provided, but we ask that you take them with you when you leave; no materials may be left in the pews.
- Follow the usher instructions and sit in the pews that are marked reserved.
- If you wish you can print the worship aid off and bring to Mass. The faithful are encouraged to bring their own electronic devices for use during the celebration of Mass. (devices should be on silent) WIFI password is eMerald7 (not the guest account).
- During Mass we will be doing the Sign of Peace without physical contact.
- Collection will not be taken up during Mass, please place donations in the collection boxes on the wall by the doors.
- During Communion please exit pew on the outside wall side of pews, ushers will be there to help guide you. We ask that parishioners keep at least 2 pews apart from the person in front of you. When you receive communion, step to the side to the spots marked for social distancing and remove mask to receive communion and put masks back on. Return to your seat using the center aisle.
- Please note since all Masses are being video recorded at this time and posted to our website and social media. By attending Mass, you give St. Mark permission to use you image in recorded videos.
General Information
- Bishop Brennan has dispensed the faithful from the obligation to attend Mass on Sunday until September 13.
- Appropriate cleaning of high use areas within the church will be done before and after each service.
